MEP services, South West

BRIEF: Box Twenty are a vibrant and rapidly expanding MEP design consultancy with headquarters in Bristol. Relocating to new premises in 2023 gave Box Twenty the opportunity to reimagine their workspace and align this with a new brand identity.

The brief was to reflect the brand with a complimentary yet classic colour palette, one that would encourage staff to collaborate within a calming environment yet also providing subtle hints of colour to accentuate key pieces. The team breakout table was created using the frame from an existing table and enhanced with a new ply laminate worktop in a branded mustard yellow. This piece became the heart of the space, where people and brand come together to work or socialise.

Spaces had to work hard to maximise the potential. A breakout lunch table also doubles as a team meeting space whilst quiet booths constructed as part of the media wall provides separation without the need for structural divisions, requiring minimum interventions to the M&E services.

The client had invested in some quality furniture pieces during a previous office move and we were keen to reuse as much as possible. Meeting chairs, task chairs, desking and framework were reused or repurposed where possible. Whatever wasn’t able to be reused was donated to a local charity for reuse elsewhere.

Studio Fika also collaborated with a local fit-out company to design and detail the space, providing full working drawings for construction.
